With our operating principles, we commit ourselves to the following core values:-
- Promoting the unity and wellbeing of those who are within the community.
- Being responsive to the needs and welfare of the people in the community in which we work.
- Respecting the rights, culture and dignity of all people within the framework of the Bill of Rights.

- Co-operating, collaborating and networking with other organisations around issues of mutual concern.
- Applying people centred development and participatory style of management.
- Promote voluntarism at all levels.
- Treating other organisations courteously and respectfully at all times.
- Ensuring the organisation remains true to its mission and objectives, and ensuring the organisation presents its self, policies and programmes in a positive light to the public, regardless of personal feelings or beliefs, and ensuring members serve the organisation in an unbiased and impartial manner, setting aside personal interests and upholding its good name, in order to create confidence in the organisation.
- Ensuring that the organisation is approachable, helpful, accessible, honest, and open in its relationships with beneficiaries and supporters, who expect high standards of service.
- Being mindful of the circumstances and concerns of the beneficiaries when making decisions that affect them.

- Ensuring that designated funds are used only for the purpose for which they were given.
- Having effective and clear procedures in the management structure of the organisation, and disciplinary procedures in place to deal with any misuse or misappropriation of resources.

- Co-operate with community projects as well as projects established by other denominations and faiths.
- Networking with local, provincial, and government structures in its work and co-operating and assisting these structures where possible.
- Assessing projects involving the Diocese financially or in terms of a monitoring role.
- By seeking financial assistance in order to carry out its duties and to support the work and programmes it approves.
